The tankage on fuel, water and holding are estimates based on the seller's report. The seller has never used the toilet or added water to the water tank nor does he know for sure how much fuel the boat holds. A Uniflite 26 foot Personnel Boat specification indicates fuel capacity is 80 gallons however that specification is on a single diesel powered version. Receipts onboard indicate there are two fuel tanks holding somewhere around 160 gallons.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Stepping into a very large cockpit this boat reminds you of a Vessel Assist boat or in fact what it was originally built to be -- a law enforcement patrol boat. The cockpit holds a large and robust towing bollard system. From this cockpit you can enter the centerline companionway inside.

The interior of this boat can best be described as utilitarian and sparse. There is no cooking facility nor refrigeration. The head is more like a porta-potty under a seat cushion than a bathroom. It is incorporated into the sleeping berth.

Entering the companionway door there is a sink and counter to port with a forward facing co-pilot seat forward of that. The seat lifts up on a hinge to access more counter space. To starboard is an empty counter space with helm seat and controls forward of that. Forward of the helm is a single berth cabin with a manual head under the cushions on starboard.

Within this cabin still remains a law enforcement locking shotgun rack. Shotgun not included.

Headroom in the main cabin is about 6'5" but the forward cabin where the sleeping berth is provides much less headroom.

Commentaires du Broker

This is certainly a rare and special boat. Built by Uniflite from the drawings for a Navy Personnel Boat it was built as a custom order for a Sheriff's Department River Patrol Boat. Heavily constructed, the boat resembles a tow boat and in fact has a robust bollard system used for just that. Today it still resembles the patrol boat it used to be.

While it no longer displays its sheriff's badge it does still sport a blue light above the companionway door, a siren on the cabin top and has an appearance that causes anglers to check their fishing gear when this boat cruises by.

It has rebuilt engines and the seller reports that the boat is mechanically sound. The boat is painted but could benefit from a new paint job and some general restoration.

The boat, named CHIEF CASSINO after the legendary leader of the Multnomah tribes of the Wapato Valley at the time of the Lewis and Clark expedition was purchased as one of three river patrol boats from Uniflite. This boat has a large number 3 painted on the cabin door, sides and roof.

Documents aboard appear to indicate the boat was de-commissioned from the sheriff's department on or around May of 2006. It was acquired by the Bellingham International Maritime Museum, but financial concerns eventually motivated the museum to sell it to a private party in 2014.
