The house bank is comprised of two 8D lead acid batteries. The starting battery is a 4D lead acid battery. The starting battery is charged by the starboard engine, the house bank is charged by the port engine, and all batteries are charge by the battery charger shore power or genset. Smart Plug shore power inlets are located at the bow and stern which provides flexibility in docking.

The engine room is clean, well lit, roomy and extremely well insulated with sound proofing. Access to the Ford Lehman SP135 6-cylinder 135 hp 6.22 liter engines is good. These engines are beautifully trimmed with chrome -- real showpieces. The seller of this vessel owned a marine engine service shop and mechanically everything appears in excellent condition.

The generator is configured with a water/exhaust separator for quiet running.

Heating is provided by a newer Webasto Airtop 55 forced air diesel heater that has been fitted with mufflers to reduce the sound level when running. Additional heating is provided by newer Red Dot type heaters for heating using engine heat while underway.

For moorage purposes the length is 49.5 ft.

The hull is constructed of hand-laid fiberglass. The superstructure is also fiberglass construction. Stainless stanchions with teak decks and varnished cap rails.

The 300 gallon steel fuel tanks are cross connected and accessible from the engine room (total of 600 gallons). Fuel level can be monitored with sight gauge or with a stick gauge.

The 143 gallon steel water tanks are cross connected and located in the lazarette (total of 286 gallons).

The holding tank is newer and poly and located in the engine room. Two oversized vent lines are run from the holding tank -- one to the port side of the hull and the other to starboard. The result is excellent ventilation of the holding tank.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

This vessel is boarded from the port or starboard quarter through varnished teak caprail that hinges open to allow passage. There is similar boarding from the transom. The full walk around decks are teak.

Two doors (one to port, one at the helm station) allow access to the main cabin. The main cabin is laid out with the helm station forward and to starboard. The galley is located forward and to port. The salon composes the aft portion of the main cabin with a settee to starboard and additional built in seating to port. Large clear glass windows let in natural light.

The galley is configured with teak drawers and cabinetry, white countertops, a stainless steel sink, an under-counter refrigerator, and a four burner Princess propane range and oven. An under-counter freezer is located adjacent to built in seating just aft of the galley and a microwave just forward of the galley. A thoughtful hinge-out cabinet for holding trash is located across from the galley, which frees up valuable under-counter space.

The helm station is laid out with a bench seat and traditional wooden spoked wheel. Visibility is excellent and all controls and navigation electronics are within easy reach.

The saloon is laid out with an L-shaped settee to starboard and additional seating to starboard. The settee converts into a double berth, if desired.

The aft cabin is configured as a master cabin with a double berth with upgraded Tempur-Pedic mattress to starboard and a single berth to port. A large walk-in closet is located forward to port and the ensuite head compartment lies forward to starboard. The head compartment has a roomy shower separated from the main head. The aft cabin has its own separate entry to the aft deck / cockpit area.

The forward cabin is arranged in a V-berth with a hanging locker for storage. A beautiful custom mahogany deck hatch overhead provides light, ventilation, and charm. The forward cabin includes the vessel's second head compartment with marine toilet, wash basin, and shower.

Steps lead from the port side deck to the flybridge and second helm station. The flybridge is configured with built-in and free-standing seating. A canvas bimini provides shade and matching canvas skirts the railing surrounding the flybridge.

A custom set of snap on exterior window covers are stored under the master berth in the aft cabin.

Commentaires du Broker

This Grand Banks 42 Classic is truly Bristol. Boathouse kept. The seller was the owner of a marine engine service business for many years, and this iconic trawler has the appearance of exceptional care and attention inside and out cosmetically and mechanically. The exterior varnished teak shines and the raw teak decks look superb.

As equipped this boat is well configured for weekend or extended cruising. Fantastic interior layout with two cabins and two heads. The layout and seating arrangement in the main cabin is well laid out for entertaining.

Propulsion is provided by two Lehman SP135s. The engine room has been exceedingly well sound proofed for quiet operation.

Numerous thoughtful upgrades and equipment replacements have been made by the seller, which mean that there is nothing obvious to me that needs to be done prior to enjoying this Grand Banks 42. See the full listing for a list of upgrades and newer equipment.

If desired, the boathouse is also for sale (to be purchased separately).
