Hull is solid FRP, decks and house are wood cored FRP. Foredeck, side decks and cockpit deck have teak overlay. Sundeck level, cabin top and foredeck top are glass finishes. All surfaces have been painted, hull sides included. The bottom was peeled while the boat was warehoused for 4 months in 2006 and was coated with epoxy products after the 4 month drying process. All fuel tanks have large clean outs, sight gauges, and can be pumped into an adjacent tank allowing the complete emptying of tanks without loosing suction at the Racor filter.

CHB Trawlers were built and branded under a half dozen or more names and are ubiquitous on the used boat market. This CHB 42 design has been popular because of its spaciousness and versatility.
What makes this a special boat and one you want to buy are price and condition! The seller reports he has invested over $250,000 in this boat. Since 2006 he has restored, repaired, re-powered, upgraded and improved the boat constantly, continuing to add new navigational equipment as recently as the fall of 2015. It's large enough to be used comfortably as a live-aboard yet with a single recently-installed modern engine it's efficient and affordable to operate yielding 1.5 gallons per hour on a 2011 Alaska trip. The bottom on this vessel has been peeled and epoxy coated creating a smooth surface today. Similar brands include C&L Trawlers, Puget Trawlers, and Ponderosa. And she even compares well to a Grand Banks for space and amenities, at a much lower cost. It is also a new enough version to not be heavily loaded with exterior teak.
Taking into account condition, equipment and recent upgrades this boat is an extraordinary value!
