A defined "cruising speed" as stated above is a bit of a misnomer. Thanks to the unique hull design and powerful propulsion the boat cruises very well at any speed up to its max speed. Unlike conventional semi-displacement hulls or planing hulls there is no awkward speed to avoid. So pick your favorite speed and set your throttle!

This is one of the few Camanos built with a Yanmar electronically-controlled common rail diesel engine. A lighter engine than the common Volvo-Pentas allowed additional tankage without increasing weight or reducing performance.

The dual controlled Vetus bow thruster is an over-sized unit which makes control of the vessel in strong winds much easier. The thruster tunnel is tapered to reduce drag.

The SS propeller shaft is 1-1/2 " in diameter with a PYI Packless shaft seal and has Spurs line cutters. The rudder and skeg are stainless steel.

Blue Seas 110 & 12 volt electrical panel.

The house bank consists of four deep cycle batteries plus a group 27 start battery. All are charged by a Victron Energy Phoenix Multiplus Inverter/Charger with "Intelligent Shore and Generator Power Manager".

The boat does not have a generator but is wired for one and has a bronze sea cock for water inlet.

Bennett Trim Tabs are installed with dual station controls.

There have been 269 Camano 31s built in Canada. This is the 270th hull and it was built in Anacortes Washington, USA.

The 31 is well-known for it's "Keelform Hull ", a great and roomy interior for a boat this size, and the list goes on and on. --
The original design did have a few shortcomings -- a small holding tank, poor drainage from the flybridge and the "any color as long as it's beige" production philosophy. Not many weaknesses...but when this boat was built in 2011 most of these small things were addressed, plus the addition of an adjustable double helm seat and a red hull. Another option, not found on most of the Camano 31s, is the custom fiberglass cockpit cover.. It includes a SS rail around the top and of course an over head light plus a cockpit flood light.

Two other pluses are the 38 gallon black water holding tank and the the additional fresh water tank making a total fresh water capacity of 115 gallons.

The hull, deck and all fiberglass parts were hand-laid up, The windows and doors were made by AJR Inc. of Vancouver, BC. The engine is a Yanmar 6-cylinder diesel and most of the other parts were supplied locally.

The Camano 31 provides a tightly-sealing large aft opening door. Moving into the main cabin there is an L-shaped convertible dinette to port with a custom wood cabinet at the forward end separating the dinette from the galley.

The lower helm station is located forward starboard. Traditionally the helm seat on these boats has been a free-standing over-sized director's chair. This boat has a new custom adjustable helm seat. When a fixed helm seat has been installed by owners of other Camanos in the past it made access to the electrical panel very difficult. This new chair moves fore and aft on a stainless steel hinge that allows easy access to the panel and still allows the engine hatch to be opened. Another strength of the new seat is its ability to store all the way forward on the starboard side leaving space for more chairs around the dinette.

Moving forward into the galley you'll find a Force 10 propane range with the tuck-under oven door. The Nova Kool refrigerator is in the usual place and the storage space in the galley has been increased to the full depth of the console. A microwave is installed on the port forward side.

Both the galley and head faucets are up grade models. The head is a Vacuflush system. The head has a large access panel to the back of the helm station.

Moving into the forward stateroom you'll see built-in shelves on both sides of the berth.

Cabin heat is from a Wallas diesel-fired forced air heat system and also from a Dickson Bus Heater running from engine hot water.

The Seaward hot water tank is 110 Volt and is connected to the engine cooling system.

Starting at the bow, there is the anchor windlass with foredeck controls and remote from both the lower helm and the flybridge. The in-deck saltwater wash down is to port and the bow rail makes anchoring easy. The over-sized Lewmar hatch makes it easy to access the foredeck from the forward cabin. There are two Lewmar opening portlights in the forward stateroom, plus two more in the head and galley.

Moving aft on either side is easy with the grab rails on both sides of the flybridge.

Stepping into the cockpit is also easy with the molded in steps on both sides. There is another saltwater wash down located on the port side of the cockpit plus the cockpit shower.

Inset into the cockpit coaming are two fender storage areas plus an additional inset on the starboard side for miscellaneous storage. There are two 12 volt outlets in the cockpit for future installation of down riggers or a pot puller.

The large centerline transom cut out with door makes for easy access to the swim platform. On the port side of the swim platform is a SS Weaver foot-operated hydraulic dinghy hoist with quick-release brackets. There is no dinghy included but the equipment is ready for its addition. The swim platform has been strengthened to accommodate a heavy dinghy.

Moving from the cockpit to the bridge is made easier by the addition of a step attached to the propane locker. Just to starboard at the top of the ladder is a a custom PYI mast system for radar, VHF, GPS, satellite radio and cell phone booster antennas .The mast also has a deck flood light.

As you step on the bridge you will notice that there is no accumulated water at the low spot in outboard edge of the bridgedeck -- a common issue with other Camanos. An additional drain has been added to the flybridge cowling to solve this water problem.

The bridgedeck has three standard helm chairs and a bimini top.

Electronics are great but a good compass is still the best navigation tool! This boat has two over-sized Ritchie models.

But the boat doesn't lack for electronics either -- upper and lower helms...

This boat will be part of the Waterline Boats / Boatshed Seattle display at the 2014 Seattle Boat Show, Lake Union. Come take a look!

For all practical purposes this 2011 Camano 31 is a new boat. Only 84 Hours on the engine and all systems appear to be in perfect condition. The knowledgeable owner of this boat specified a lengthy and outstanding list of equipment when this boat was built. This is the newest Camano 31 on the market, and features several items that continue the long list of evolutionary improvements made to these fine boats over the years.

This is one of the few Camanos to have a full cover on the back deck made of fiberglass, and it has a larger holding tank and more water tankage than earlier models. Also unique is the new safe and comfortable double helm seat.

With its red hull and sharp white superstructure this boat won't be confused with any of other Camanos on the water. But it was built to be consistent with the Camano standards for sturdy construction and careful execution. The Keelform hull, large engine room access and great flybridge are fundamental design features in Camanos that can't be beat.

And the interior.... custom double layer blinds, dressy wood battens in the overhead and upgrades on everything from fabric to lighting make this a very attractive boat inside.
